enmail.com, is an Application Service Provider of e-mail and messaging services. We offer simple, scaleable, and secure services to businesses of all sizes. Our focus is in establishing Internet Presence for Small & Medium Enterprises and providing outsourced e-mail services for Portals & Internet Service Providers.

enmail enXchange 1.0 is our first contribution to the Internet community. It is a software application that works on Microsoft Windows platform that bridges the gap between an organization's internal and external messaging communication systems. It reduces communication costs for an organization, by connecting to the Internet periodically and downloading incoming messages and uploading outgoing messages. This software complements intranet messaging applications such as Microsoft Exchange Server, Lotus Notes, Sendmail, etc.

The initial requirement for this kind of software came from our customers. While there are closed source alternatives, we believe that they are overpriced and under-featured. Having developed it with relative ease, we felt it would benefit other companies with similar requirements; so we decided that it would be our first open source contribution.

The other driving factor behind this initiative is that no software that is "Made in India" has been successful in the international marketplace. While applications such as Tally, iLeap, etc. have been reasonably successful in the Indian marketplace with a hundreds of thousands of users. To encourage software development in this country, we need world-class products that are designed and developed for an International audience.

We know that our software can benefit millions of users worldwide, if they became aware of its existence. enmail's making it open source removes all barriers of entry for potential users. Our hope is that it gets accepted by the Internet community and encourages other Indian companies to follow suit.
